Scald milk.

Add shortening (or oil), beaten egg, sugar and salt to scalded milk.

Dissolve dry yeast in warm water.

Add water and yeast mixture to the liquid milk mixture.

Sift and measure flour, adding liquid mixtures.

Mix well.

Cover with warm cloth and let stand 10 to 30 minutes.

Knead dough down, adding more flour, if needed.

Cover again and let rise 30 to 45 minutes. Knead dough down again, roll out and cut out rolls with cutter. Place in greased or Pam pan and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes. Bake at 375Β° for approximately 30 minutes or until golden brown.
