Wilted Lettuce
Wilted Lettuce is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. loosely packed leaf lettuce, 2 strips bacon, cooked, 1/4 c. sliced green onions, 1/2 tbsp. sugar (optional) and 1/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Wash and dry lettuce and tear into large salad bowl.
Cook bacon until crisp, crumble and reserve.
To bacon fat in skillet, stir in 1/4 cup sliced green onions, sugar, salt, pepper, and vinegar.
Cook about 2 minutes.
Pour hot dressing over lettuce. Sprinkle with bacon bits and chopped egg and toss to coat evenly. Serves 2 or 3.
