"Whipped Cream" Frosting
"Whipped Cream" Frosting is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 c. cornstarch, 1 c. sugar, divided, pinch of salt, 1 c. milk and 1 c. butter (2 sticks, part margarine is okay), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Blend cornstarch with 1/4 cup of the sugar and salt in small heavy pan.
Mix in milk.
Cook and stir over medium heat until thick and smooth.
Cool to room temperature.
Beat remaining 3/4 cup sugar with the room temperature butter and vanilla and add cornstarch mixture.
Beat on high speed until fluffy and whipped. Refrigerate cake in hot weather.
Great on any cake, especially chocolate.
