Wheat Rolls
Wheat Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. yeast, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1/2 c. lukewarm water, 1 egg, beaten and 1/3 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Dissolve yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar in 1/2 cup lukewarm water.
Cream together sugar and shortening.
Add egg.
Add yeast mixture (dissolved) to sugar, shortening and egg mixture.
Stir. Add 1 cup wheat flour, 1 cup white flour and salt.
Beat 1 minute. Stir in 1/2 cup hot tap water.
Add remaining flour needed to make dough stiff enough to handle.
Cover and let rise until double. Punch down.
Form into rolls and place in greased pan.
Cover and let rise until double.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes in a 375Β° oven. Makes 16 rolls.
