Vanilla Cream Pie
Vanilla Cream Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2/3 c. sugar, 3 tbsp. cornstarch, 1/2 tsp. salt, 3 c. milk and 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Mix in a saucepan sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Stir in gradually the milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
Boil 1 minute.
Remove from heat and gradually add at least 1/2 of hot mixture into egg yolks, then blend into hot mixture into saucepan.
Boil 1 minute more, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Blend in butter and vanilla.
Pour into baked pie shell.
Add meringue on top.
