Pack in clean dried quart fruit jars until full. Add vinegar to cover cucumbers. Last, add the salt (do not use iodine salt) and alum.

Set away for 6 weeks.

After 6 weeks, drain off vinegar completely.

Place in jar 3 cinnamon sticks and fill jars with sugar.

When sugar dissolves, re-fill jars again with sugar.

Again set away for 7 days. After 7 days, it is now ready to eat.
