Thin-Layer Cake
Thin-Layer Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 box yellow cake mix, 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour, 1 c. sugar, 2 c. milk (room temperature) and 1 (8 oz.) sour cream, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
In a mixer bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and creamy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly.
Stir together cake mix and flour. With mixer on low speed, alternately add dry ingredients, milk and sour cream to butter mixture. Mix well. Use cooking spray before adding 3/4 cup mixture to an 8-inch pan. (I bought ten 8-inch throw away cake pans.) Bake at 375Β° for 10 minutes. Cool and frost. Makes 12 to 15 layers. Frost with Iron Skillet Chocolate Icing.
