The Deacon's Pralines
The Deacon'S Pralines is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed, 1 c. milk, 1/2 c. cooking sherry, 2 tbsp. margarine or butter and few grains salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Combine sugar and milk.
Cook over low heat until sugar dissolves.
Bring to boil and cook 4 minutes, stirring constantly. Add sherry and cook until firm ball is formed in cold water. Remove from heat.
Add butter and salt; let stand until lukewarm. Add nuts.
Beat until creamy.
Drop by small teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper. Store in covered container.
