Swiss Steak
Swiss Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with round steak (2 inches thick), bacon dripping or crisco, 1 onion, cubed, 1 c. flour and 1 tsp. allspice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Pound flour into steak. Melt fat in skillet and sear steak on both sides. Remove steak to large casserole or roaster.
There should be at least 2 tablespoons fat remaining in the skillet. To this add the flour and blend; stir in tomatoes, seasonings and onion. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Pour over steak; cover roaster and bake in 350Β° oven until tender, about 3 hours.
