Sweet-Sour Pork
Sweet-Sour Pork is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. lean pork (pork roast, cut into cubes), 2 tbsp. shortening, 1/4 c. water, 2 tbsp. cornstarch and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Brown pork in shortening.
Add water; cover and simmer 1 hour.
Combine cornstarch, salt, brown sugar, vinegar, pineapple juice and soy sauce; cook, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened.
Pour sauce over hot pork; let stand 10 minutes.
Add green peppers, onion and pineapple chunks.
Cook 5 minutes.
Makes 6 servings.
Serve with rice.
