Sweet Custard Crème
Sweet Custard Crème is an easy dinner. Made with 4 egg yolks, 1/3 c. sugar, 1 3/4 c. milk and 1 tsp. vanilla extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Place egg yolks and sugar in a heavy saucepan and whisk together well, about 2 minutes.
Add milk and whisk to blend.
Set the saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce begins to thicken.
Don't allow it to come to a boil or the eggs will curdle!
Remove from heat.
Add vanilla.
Pour into glass or ceramic pitcher and allow to cool.
Serve over fresh fruit, or white cake topped with berries.
