Sweet and Sour Pork
Sweet And Sour Pork is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. pork steak, cut in bite-size pieces, 1 (20 oz.) can pineapple (chunks or crushed), 1/4 c. brown sugar, 2 tbsp. cornstarch and 1/4 c. vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Brown meat.
Add 1/2 cup water and simmer (don't boil) until tender, about 1 hour.
Drain pineapple and combine juice with brown sugar, cornstarch, vinegar, soya sauce and salt. Add to pork and cook thick, minutes. Add pineapple and onion. Serve or chow mein noodles. Serves 4 or 6 (use 3 or 4 steaks for 6).
