Swedish Heirloom Cookies
Swedish Heirloom Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened, 1 c. sifted powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt and 2 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Beat shortening and butter at medium speed of an electric mixer until fluffy.
Add 1 cup powdered sugar and salt.
Add water, vanilla and almonds, stirring well.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets and flatten.
Bake at 325Β° for 12 to 15 minutes or until firm and lightly browned.
Dredge warm cookies in additional powdered sugar.
Yield: 4 dozen.
