Swans Down Angel Food Cake
Swans Down Angel Food Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. plus 2 tbsp. swans down cake flour, 1 1/2 c. sifted sugar, 10 to 12 egg whites, at room temperature, 1/4 tsp. salt and 1 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Measure sifted flour.
The sugar and sift together 4 times.
Combine whites, salt, cream of tartar and flavorings in large bowl.
Beat with flatware whip, eggbeater or at high speed of electric mixer until whites are stiff enough to hold up in soft peaks but are still moist and glossy.
Add remaining four additions.
Bake in a 10-inch tube pan at 375Β° for about 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool in pan upside-down
1 hour.
Loosen from sides and center tube with knife.
