Strawberry Cake
Strawberry Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour, 1 1/3 c. sugar, 2/3 c. shortening, 1 1/4 c. milk and 3 1/2 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Heat oven to 350Β°.
Grease and flour a 13 x 9 x 2-inch or two 8-inch pans.
Beat all ingredients except egg whites on low speed until blended (about 30 seconds).
Beat on high speed 2 minutes. Add egg whites and beat on high 2 minutes more.
Add fresh strawberries; mix well.
Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until cake springs back when touched lightly in center.
