Split Pea Soup
Split Pea Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. green split peas, 2 bay leaves, salt and pepper to taste, 1 ham hock (or hot dogs) and 4 diced carrots, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Peas must be soaked overnight.
In a soup pot, put in peas and 6 cups of water.
Add bay leaves and salt and pepper to taste. Add in ham hock.
Simmer for an hour and a half.
Scoop out ham hock (discard).
Put peas (a few cups at a time) in a blender to purΓ©e.
Return soup to the pot and add carrots and potatoes (and hot dogs if you did not use a ham hock).
Add water, if soup is too thick.
