Spiced Chicken Wings
Spiced Chicken Wings is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 large pkg. chicken wings, 3 tbsp. dry sherry or shao hsing wine, 1 c. water, 2 whole star anise and 2 small sticks cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Place wings in an ungreased wok; add wine.
Cook until almost all of the wine has evaporated.
Add water, cover and cook over medium-high heat for 10 minutes.
Add the star anise and cinnamon and cook, covered, about 5 minutes.
Then add the tamari, sugar and salt.
Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Stir often so they don't dry out.
You may need to add some (3 to 4 tablespoons) water.
Average cooking time is 45 minutes.
