Southern Black-Eyed Peas
Southern Black-Eyed Peas is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. frozen black-eyed peas, 2 c. water, 1 medium onion, chopped, 1/2 tsp. low sodium beef flavored bouillon granules and 1/4 tsp. ground savory, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Combine peas and water in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
In a nonstick skillet, spray with vegetable spray.
Saute onion in pan until soft; add bouillon granules, savory and red pepper flakes and stir to mix.
Add this mixture to beans.
Cover and let simmer 50 minutes or until tender.
