Sopaipillas is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. flour, 4 tsp. baking powder, 2 tsp. salt, oil for frying and 1/4 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.

Sift dry ingredients into mixing bowl.
Cut in shortening. Add a little at a time, stirring to form a stiff dough. Knead smooth.
2-inch squares or triangles.
Deep heavy pan to 365Β°. Deep fry dough pieces at a time until golden brown. They will puff up as they fry.
Serve with butter and jelly or honey.
(Can be rolled in powdered sugar.)
