Snickerdoodles Cookies
Snickerdoodles Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. soft shortening, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 2 3/4 c. sifted gold medal flour and 2 tsp. cream of tartar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Mix first three ingredients together thoroughly.
Sift together flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt and stir in.
Chill dough. Roll into balls the size of small walnuts.
Roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon.
Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake until lightly browned, but still soft.
(These cookies puff up at first, then flatten out with crinkled tops.)
Bake at 400Β° (moderate hot oven) for 8 to 10 minutes.
Makes about 5 dozen 2-inch cookies.
