Skillet Chicken In Orange Sauce is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/3 c. butter or margarine, 3 lb. chicken thighs, 1/4 c. all-purpose flour, 2 tbsp. firmly packed brown sugar and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Melt butter in Dutch oven over medium heat, add chicken and brown on all sides.
Remove chicken from Dutch oven and set aside; reserve drippings in pan. Combine flour and next 4 ingredients and stir into drippings.
Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, 1 minute.
Gradually stir in orange juice and water. Bring mixture to a boil; add chicken.
Cover and simmer 25 minutes.
Place orange slices on top of chicken.
Cover and simmer 10 minutes or until chicken is done.
Serve over rice.
