Shortbread
Shortbread is an easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sifted flour, 1/4 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 c. confectioners sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt and 1 c. margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
Cut the shortening into confectioners sugar as you do when cutting shortening into flour for pastry, then add flour mixture.
Blend thoroughly.
About halfway through the mixture (blend thoroughly), use your hands.
Chill until easy to handle, then roll out on lightly floured board to 1/4-inch thickness.
Cut into squares or diamonds.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet about an inch apart. Bake at 350Β° until a delicate brown, 20 to 25 minutes.
