Shanghai Casserole
Shanghai Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. onions, 1/2 lb. boneless pork, cut in strips, 1/2 lb. boneless veal, cut in strips, 2 to 3 c. hot water and 1 can mushrooms (undrained), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Saute onions in shortening.
Remove from pan; brown pork and veal.
Add soy sauce and onion salt.
Pour hot water over meat; simmer for 30 minutes.
Add diced celery; simmer for 15 minutes. Add all vegetables.
Combine cornstarch and water into smooth paste; add to mixture, stirring, until clear.
Bake at 400Β° for 20 to 27 minutes.
