Scioto Chapel Bread Dressing
Scioto Chapel Bread Dressing is an moderately easy baked good you can prepare in about 1 hour 26 minutes. Made with loaf bread, c. water, medium onions, chopped, individual stalks celery, chopped and (13 3/4 oz.) cans chicken broth, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
The night before, lay out bread slices to dry.
Preheat oven to 350Β°.
In the water, cook onions and celery with salt and pepper to taste until tender.
Tear dried bread into one-inch pieces and put in large bowl.
Pour water/onion/celery mixture and the beaten eggs into the bread pieces and mix well.
Pour in broth and mix again.
Mix in turkey or chicken pieces if desired. Spread in greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan and bake one hour, or until it begins to turn tan and pulls away from pan sides.
Serves 20.
