Rye Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. warm water, 3 tbsp. honey, 1 tbsp. molasses (optional), 1 tbsp. yeast and 5 to 5 1/2 c. whole wheat flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Mix first four ingredients and let bubble.

After yeast mixture bubbles, beat in 5 cups whole wheat flour.

Beat by hand or with an electric mixer for 5 minutes.

Let set about 5 to 10 minutes, then mix in rye flour, salt and caraway seed.

Knead 8 to 10 minutes, adding remaining half cup of whole wheat flour as needed.

Cover and let rise about 1 hour.

Punch down dough and form into 2 large loaves or 3 small loaves.

Place in "Pammed" loaf pans.

Let rise until bread is about 1 inch above the pan.

Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour.
