Rich Sugar Cookies
Rich Sugar Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. butter, 1/2 c. shortening, 3 eggs and 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Cream sugar, butter, shortening, eggs and vanilla thoroughly. Blend together dry ingredients and stir with creamed mixture a little at a time.
Chill for several hours.
(If using a cookie press, do not chill and substitute shortening for butter.)
Roll out small portions to 1/8-inch thickness.
Cut with floured cookie cutters.
If using pre-sifted flour, omit baking powder and salt. Sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 375Β° for 8 to 10 minutes.
Yields 5 to 6 dozen.
