Refrigerator Cookies
Refrigerator Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, softened, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/2 c. white sugar, 1 egg and 1/2 c. chopped nuts, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Blend shortening, sugar and egg.
Add dry ingredients to this mixture and blend well.
Divide and shape into 2 rolls, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
Roll in waxed paper, place on plate and chill in refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
Cut thin slices of chilled dough with sharp knife and place on cookie sheet which has been rubbed with shortening.
Bake at 350Β° about 12 minutes.
Watch closely, they will burn easily.
Leave in pan until cool, they tear up easily.
When cool, put in plastic bag to keep fresh and crisp.
