Red Cabbage
Red Cabbage is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 large head red cabbage, 1/2 c. bacon drippings, 1 large onion, chopped, 1 c. dry white wine and 1/4 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Over medium heat in heavy saucepan, saute onion in bacon drippings until clear.
Add wine, sugar, vinegar and garlic. Simmer 5 minutes.
Add cabbage; cover and simmer another 20 minutes.
Add apples and simmer, stirring often, until cabbage and apples are tender.
Season with salt and hot sauce.
