Raisin Molasses Sugar Cookies
Raisin Molasses Sugar Cookies is an impressive dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 1 c. sugar, 1/4 c. light molasses, 1 egg and 1 3/4 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

In a large bowl cream together shortening and 1 cup of sugar. Add molasses and egg.
Beat until well blended.
Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt.
Stir into molasses mixture and mix well.
Fold in raisins and nuts.
Form into 1-inch balls and roll in granulated sugar.
Place on a greased cookie sheet, about 2-inches apart.
Slightly flatten with bottom of a glass if desired.
Bake at 375Β° for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Let stand 1 minute.
Remove cookies to wire rack.
Makes 5 dozen cookies.
