Preheat oven

350° (325° if using glass pans).

Mix yeast in warm water.

Flour to make a thin mixture and minutes or until mixture starts to get light and frothy.

Cream the butter; add sugar gradually beat until fluffy.

Set aside 1/8 cup of flour. Mix together remaining flour, baking powder, spices and salt. Add butter mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending ingredients. to yeast mixture.

Dredge raisins in 1/8 cup flour and stir into batter which should be like thick, whipped cream; if too thick, add a little milk. Spread batter in greased and floured loaf pans (two). about 50 minutes or golden brown.

Remove from pans after 10 minutes. Cool on racks.
