Priscilla's Pear Pickles
Priscilla'S Pear Pickles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 1/2 ripe pears (about 14 to 16 medium), 1 qt. water, 1 tbsp. vinegar, 2 1/2 c. sugar and 1 1/4 c. vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Wash, peel and core pears.
Place at once in 1-quart of water with 1 tablespoon vinegar added.
Combine sugar, vinegar and water.
Bring to a boil.
Add spices tied in a cheesecloth. Cover; boil 5 minutes.
Remove spices.
Put pears in hot pint jars.
Add syrup to within 1/2-inch from top of jar.
Make certain pears are covered with syrup.
Adjust lids.
Process in boiling water bath (212Β°) for 15 minutes.
