Pound Cake

Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan or 12-cup Bundt pan.
Beat sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla in a large mixer bowl on low, scraping bowl constantly, for 30 seconds.
Beat on high, scraping bowl constantly for 5 minutes.
Beat in flour, baking powder and salt alternately with milk on low speed.
Pour into pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 70 to 80 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into middle comes out clean.
Cool 5 minutes; remove from pan.
