Plain Pie Crust
Plain Pie Crust is an easy dinner. Made with 1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, 2/3 c. shortening and 3 tbsp. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Mix together flour and salt.
Add shortening and cut into flour with fork or pastry blender.
Add water and mix gently with fork in stirring motion.
Gather pastry into a ball and place in pie tin.
With tips of fingers, spread pastry along bottom and sides of pie tin, shaping a high fluted edge.
Makes 1 (9-inch) pie shell.
For baked shell, prick with fork deeply and at close intervals on sides and bottom.
Bake in preheated 450Β° oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
