Pineapple Upside Down Cake
Pineapple Upside Down Cake is an easy dinner. Made with 1/2 stick margarine, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 4 pineapple slices or 8 1/2 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained and 1 pkg. jiffy yellow cake mix, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Melt margarine in 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan or 9-inch layer pan. Sprinkle brown sugar over margarine.
Spread crushed pineapple over brown sugar mixture.
If using sliced pineapple, arrange over brown sugar mixture and place a half slice of maraschino cherry in center of pineapple slice.
Prepare cake mix as directed on package, except substitute pineapple juice for water.
Pour batter over pineapple mixture.
Bake in 350Β° oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool cake 5 minutes before inverting over serving plate.
Let stand 1 minute before removing pan.
Serve warm.
