Picante Sauce
Picante Sauce is an impressive dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 28 minutes. Made with to 8 fresh jalapeño peppers, garlic, small can tomato paste, c. sugar and c. vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Combine jalapeño peppers, garlic, tomato paste, sugar, vinegar, alum and spices in blender.
Process until smooth. Combine with chopped vegetables in a large saucepan.
Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
Pour into hot sterilized pint jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace.
Seal.
Process in boiling water bath for 15 minutes.
Yield: pints.
