Picante Sauce
Picante Sauce is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 qt. tomatoes, 1 medium green pepper, 1 medium onion, 2 medium fresh jalapeño peppers or hot red peppers and 1 to 2 cloves garlic, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
In blender, coarsely grind tomatoes.
Add green pepper, onion, jalapeños and garlic to tomatoes.
Process until vegetables are coarsely ground.
Stir vinegar, salt and sugar into vegetable mixture.
Transfer vegetables to a 3-quart pot.
Simmer uncovered over low heat until desired consistency.
Stir in oregano, cayenne and cumin.
Season to taste with salt.
Store in refrigerator or process.
