Phil'S Own Easy 8 Bean Soup(Easy, Quick And Tastes Like Hours Of Preparation!) is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 cottage ham or pork steak, 1 (15 oz.) can butter beans, 1 (15 oz.) can great northern beans, 1 (15 oz.) can pink beans and 1 (15 oz.) can black-eyed peas, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Trim fat from meat.
In large kettle, put meat, all beans, celery and onion.
Rinse cans with a little water; pour into one of the cans and add to soup along with 3 to 4 more cans of water. Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring from time to time.
When celery and onion are done, meat will be done.
Shred meat into soup if you wish.
Salt and pepper to taste.
At this point, you can serve as is or add chili sauce in pot or on side if you like it spicy as I do.
