Cook first 3 ingredients to 300Β° on candy thermometer; while cooking syrup, grease iron skillet with butter and sprinkle with salt.
Add peanut butter to skillet.

Mixture will be stiff.
Pour onto greased cookie sheet.
Cut at once into pieces.
