Combine sugar, syrup and water and cook together until it forms a hard ball, 350Β° on candy thermometer.

Add peanuts and butter and cook in the syrup until it browns.

Add vanilla. Remove from heat and add soda.

Mix well.

Pour into buttered pans.

Spread thinly.

When cold break into pieces.
