Melt butter; stir in corn, syrup, water, brown sugar and salt. Cut potatoes in halves lengthwise.
Dip in corn syrup mixture, coating all sides.
Place in 13 x 9-inch pan.
Pour remaining syrup over top.
Bake in slow oven (325Β°) until tender and glazed, about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Baste occasionally.
