"Oma's" (Grandma's) Bread Pudding
"Oma'S" (Grandma'S) Bread Pudding is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. scalded milk, 4 c. bread or cake crumbs, 1/4 c. melted butter, 1/2 c. sugar and 2 large eggs, beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Scald milk.
Pour over bread crumbs and eggs.
Add butter, sugar, raisins, fruit, slivered almonds and spices.
Pour into well-buttered ovenproof dish (1 1/2-quart).
Set in hot water about 1 to 1 1/2 inches deep; bake at 350Β° for about 1 hour.
(Try center; should come out dry.)
Dot with butter and cinnamon-sugar if desired.
Serve hot or cold with whipped cream or wine sauce (optional).
