Old Fashioned Sweet Potato Cobbler
Old Fashioned Sweet Potato Cobbler is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 medium to large sweet potatoes, 4 c. water, 1 1/2 sticks real butter, not oleo, 2/3 c. flour and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Wash and peel potatoes.
Quarter potatoes, cutting lengthwise.
Put in large pot with water and salt and boil until potatoes are just barely tender.
Lift potatoes out into a bowl. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix together flour, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Bring liquid to boil.
With a wire whisk beat the flour mixture into the boiling liquid and whip until there are no more lumps.
Put in 1 stick of the butter and whisk around until it melts.
Spray deep baking dish with Pam.
Arrange potatoes in dish and pour liquid mixture over potatoes.
