Old-Fashioned Gingerbread
Old-Fashioned Gingerbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter, 1/2 c. sugar, 2 large eggs, 1/2 c. molasses and 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Preheat the oven to 350°. Beat butter at medium speed of an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
Gradually add sugar, beating well.
Add eggs and molasses, mixing well.
Combine flour and next 4 ingredients.
Add to butter mixture alternately with hot water, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Mix after each addition.
Pour batter into a greased and floured 8-inch square pan.
Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
Serve with whipped cream.
Makes 9 servings.
