Old Fashioned Biscuits
Old Fashioned Biscuits is an easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, 3 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt, 4 tbsp. shortening and about 3/4 c. buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Sift flour; measure; add baking powder and salt, sift again. Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender or 2 knives, blending it until the mixture resembles coarse corn meal.
Stirring with fork, add enough milk to make soft dough, or until flour leaves sides of bowl and follows fork; continue until all flour disappears.
Turn out on floured board; knead for about 1/2 minute.
Pat out to 1 inch thick.
Cut with biscuit cutter; place close together on lightly greased baking sheet. Brush tops lightly with melted butter or margarine.
Bake in hot oven at 425Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
