Okra Casserole
Okra Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. fresh or frozen okra, sliced, 1 to 2 tbsp. bacon drippings, 1 medium onion, sliced, 1 bell pepper, sliced and 1/2 can sliced water chestnuts, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Saute okra in bacon drippings over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes, enough to get it all good and hot.
Turn out into a quart greased casserole.
Saute onion, bell pepper and celery crisp-tender.
Layer vegetables over okra. Put water chestnuts casserole with olives and mix with other vegetables.
Arrange tomatoes
Bake, uncovered, at 350Β° for 20 minutes.
