No-Fail French Bread
No-Fail French Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. warm water, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 tbsp. oil, 1 1/2 tsp. salt and 1 pkg. (1 tbsp.) active dry yeast (i use rapidrise), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Combine warm water with sugar, oil and salt.
Sprinkle yeast over mixture.
Add flour, stirring until smooth.
Let rise 10 minutes; stir down.
Continue rising dough 10 minutes, then stirring down every 10 minutes for 1 hour.
On lightly floured surface, roll dough 1/2-inch thick.
Roll jelly-roll style to make loaf.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Cover and let rise in warm place for 30 minutes.
Bake at 400Β° for 30 minutes or until done.
