New Orleans Skillet Pork Chops is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 medium onion, chopped, 1 large celery stalk, chopped, 2 tbsp. butter, 1 tbsp. olive oil and 4 pork chops (1/2-inch thick), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Saute onion and celery in butter and oil in heavy, deep skillet for 2 minutes, or until slightly softened.
Season pork chops with salt and pepper; brown on both sides.
Remove from pan; set aside.
Add water, brown sugar and 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce to skillet.
Bring to boil; stir in rice and fennel seed.
Return chops to skillet.
Spoon sauce and rice over them.
