Mulberry Shortcake
Mulberry Shortcake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. mulberries, 1 c. honey or sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and 1 egg, beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Pour mulberries into greased 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Pour honey or sugar over berries.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
Combine egg, milk, oil and honey or brown sugar in mixing bowl; blend well.
Fold in flour, baking powder and salt, adding a small amount of milk, if necessary, to form very soft dough. Spread dough over berries.
Bake at 400Β° for about 20 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean.
Serves 6 to 8.
