Mom's Health Bread
Mom'S Health Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. whole wheat flour, 1 c. uncooked oatmeal, 1 c. cornmeal, 3 1/2 c. unbleached flour and 2 tbsp. melted oleo or oil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Dissolve yeast in warm water; set aside.
Mix sugar, molasses, salt and melted shortening thoroughly.
Add yeast.
Gradually add dry ingredients, reserving some flour to knead.
Knead dough until smooth and elastic and all flour is worked in.
Place in a greased bowl.
Cover and let rise until double in size.
Mold into 2 loaves and place in greased pan.
Make indentation down center. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or more.
Bake at 350Β° for 45 to 60 minutes.
