2 1/2 tbsp. flour

1/2 c. milk

1/2 c. softened butter

1/2 c. sugar

1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

👨‍🍳 Instructions

Place flour a small saucepan.

Add milk gradually, stirring constantly mixture smooth and blended. Place mixture over moderately low heat (about 225°) and cook, stirring constantly, thickened and smooth.

(Mixture will be fairly stiff.) Cool.

Place butter in the small bowl of an electric mixer and beat until creamy.

Add sugar gradually and beat mixture is light.

Add the cooled flour mixture and beat at high speed until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 1 to 2 minutes.

Gently fold in vanilla.

Makes enough to frost the top of a 9-inch cake.
